COMMITMENT
“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.”
—Vince Lombardi, American football player and coach.
Being committed isn’t easy. It takes time and effort.Commitment always involves choice and intent.
Commitment is never random or accidental. True commitment also demands passion. Without passion, our actions lack urgency and intensity.
Integrity is also tied to commitment. Our commitment demonstrates our integrity and our integrity often motivates and drives our commitment.Commitments are critical especially in a team environment where each team member needs to be able to depend on their teammates to achieve the team’s goals.
Making a commitment should
never be taken lightly.
Many of the things we want won’t come quickly or easily. These things require commitment.Saving a down payment for a car or a house, losing weight, getting an education, or a promotion at work, maintaining an important relationship, staying married—all these goals require commitment, as does everything worth doing.
Whatever you do, commit to doing it well.
Or don’t do it at all.
Be committed to your family and friends, your partners and spouse, your job, your business, your community, your education and your goals.
